Intolerance/Allergy
An intolerance refers to a non-immune system response ranging form a minor irritation to an extreme reaction. The substance in which our body reacts to, which is generally non-threatening, is viewed by our body as a threat to our general well being. An intolerance can also be described as a disruption in energy flow in the body when exposed to a given substance.
Allergy differs from that of intolerance. Allergy is the body's response to a given food or environmental substance that causes in immune system response. This reaction consists of the release of IgE antibodies that move to the site of the allergen with the release of histamine, causing an inflammatory reaction.
What is a Holistic Nutritionist?
A Holistic Nutritionist looks at the body as a whole and each person as a biochemical unique individual. We believe you are what you digest. This means you must digest, absorb and assimilate the nutrients from what you eat and eliminate waste properly in order to have “superior” health.
We are trained to assess personal strengths and weaknesses in the various body systems due to nutrient excesses and deficiencies. We then aim to bring these body systems back into balance through proper nutrition, supplements and herbs. We do not diagnose disease; however we are trained and allowed to treat disease once you have been diagnosed by a medical professional.
We believe that the combination of your body, mind and spirit along with the foods you eat, water you drink, activity level and the way you live your life determine your overall health and well-being.
Our goal is to enable the body to heal itself naturally and then to maintain superior health by supplying it with proper nutrients and by nourishing the whole body, mind and spirit on a daily basis.
A nutritional consulting session may include:
- Food sensitivity testing
- Recommending food selection and preparation
- Evaluation of nutrient deficiencies and excesses

- Designing a program specifically for each individual, taking into consideration such factors as age, gender, level of exercise/physical activity, dietary goals, food preferences and nutritional deficiencies or imbalances
- Custom detoxification and cleansing protocols
- Education
- Grocery shopping tips
